Missing Mom Case: Michelle Troconis' New Attorney Claims Bail Conditions Humiliating, Too Harsh

A new attorney hired to represent Michelle Troconis, the former lover of Fotis Dulos, who is charged in the death of his missing Fairfield County wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, didn't take long to file new motions on her behalf.

Hartford-based Jon Schoenhorn was hired on Wednesday, Feb. 5, and immediately filed a motion to have the case moved to the Hartford Judicial District.

In the motion, Schoenhorn argues the crimes Troconis is accused of committing took place in the Hartford area, not in Fairfield County.

“Although the state alleges this crime occurred in the town of New Canaan, the set of facts set forth in the arrest warrant affidavit in support of probable cause claim that the conduct only occurred in Hartford, East Granby and Farmington, all of which are within the Hartford Judicial District,” the motion states.

Troconis, who is charged with conspiracy to commit murder, and is free on a $1.5 million bond, is on house arrest and must wear an ankle monitor.

Schoenhorn also filed another motion requesting the court modify the terms of her release including removing her GPS ankle monitor, which he claims is too tight; stop mandatory drug testings, which he says humiliates his client, and put her on a "less restrictive" house arrest so she can shop and take her daughter places when she is home from school.

In the motion, Schoenhorn also mentions Fotis Dulos’s suicide note, in which he allegedly wrote that Troconis was innocent.

Police believe that Troconis conspired with the now-deceased Fotis Dulos in the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos by helping dump bags that contained items connected to the case, according to arrest warrants and other documents.

Jennifer Dulos, who is presumed dead, has not been seen since dropping off her five children at a private school on Friday, May 24.

According to arrest warrants, police believe Fotis Dulos was “lying in wait” and attacked Jennifer Dulos in the garage of her New Canaan home, then disposed of the body and materials used to clean up the crime scene.

Fotis Dulos died last week following a suicide attempt.
